Mauritius - Heaven on the Earth

This will be really short since we spent only 12 hours there. Mauritius is a small island located in the Indian Ocean between Madagascar and India. Me, Woody, Megan, Michelle and two more girls Nicki and her roommate arrived early in the morning in Port Louise, which is the capital of this beautiful island, found a taxi driver for the whole day and took off to the beaches. First beach was pretty. There were birds everywhere and the Ocean was crystal clear. Since it was really early, water was still chill, so we decided to go to another beach and explore the island. On the way to the other beach, taxi driver took as to street shop to try some street food. It was absolutely delicious and for 30 cents we got five deep fried vegetables and potatoes.
The other place that we stopped was more urban and touristic, so we could do some shopping for our families and friends. As everywhere, water was very clear and I felt like in heaven. After lunch, which was delicious fish, we went to probably most beautiful beach. We spent the rest of the day drinking cocktails, swimming and laying on the sand while listening the sound of the Ocean. Some people from the group went to parasailing and scuba diving, and some stayed on the beach and enjoying every moment of the amazing nature.
Locals were friendly and warm. Food was delicious. Weather was perfect that day, so we could have absolute joy. In the late afternoon, we took a cab and came back to Port Louise. Before we went to back to the ship, we visited crowd market place. Ah, and we were running to the Super Market which supposed to be closed at 5pm, so I took off my shoes and started journey through Mauritius’s streets. I almost fell down couple of times, but I was on time and I bought what I needed. But guess what? Me and Woody had another problem. We came back to the ship at 5:30pm. Our dock time was 6pm, so we thought that 30 minutes is more than enough, but line in front of us was way too long. We were freaking out that we won’t enter ship before 6pm, which means 2 hours penalty in India. Finally, I swiped my student card at 5:57pm totally happy and ready for India.
That was Mauritius, short and beautiful.
